The Science+Art Project
"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious.
It is the source of all true art and science."
---Albert Einstein, What I Believe, 1930
For the last 15 to 20 years researchers and scholars have
been working on the relationships between science and art, working mostly
quietly. Science+Art© will bring to the public the scope of this work.
Intellectually and visually it’s compelling material. It helps those who
are science-shy come to science in a way that’s easy to grasp. It enlightens
those who are mystified by art, by pointing out an intellectual and often
scientific basis for understanding. And once these connections are done,
it's almost impossible ever again to think about science and art separately.
Science+Art intends to be a fairly generous comprehensive
look at the relationships between science and art.
"The arts like the sciences start in the real world. Then
reach out to cue possible worlds, and finally to all conceivable worlds."
----Edward O. Wilson, Consilience
